Apex Tread RecoveryAPEX TREAD RECOVERY

How It Works

A step-by-step look at our on-wheel regrooving process, safety controls, and documentation.

Step-by-Step Workflow

1

Position & Access — Trailer is safely jacked as needed for tire access. Wheels stay on.

2

Measure — We measure existing tread depth on every tire.

3

Inspect — Each tire is checked for casing integrity, sidewall condition, and belt health. Unsafe tires are skipped.

4

Mark — Eligible tires are marked for service.

5

Regroove — Automated gantry cuts new grooves following the original straight-rib pattern. Mechanical depth limiter maintains 3mm safety buffer above steel belts.

6

Document — Paper depth report generated. Before/after photos taken. Tire stamped to prevent double-service.

Safety Controls

Mechanical Depth Limiter

Physically prevents cutting deeper than spec. Not software — mechanical.

3mm Safety Buffer

Minimum 3mm rubber always remains above steel belts. Protects structural integrity.

Pre-Inspection Gate

Every tire must pass casing, sidewall, and belt inspection before service. No exceptions.

Documentation

  • Paper depth report (before and after measurements)
  • Before/after photos of each serviced tire
  • Service log/checklist per yard visit
  • Tire stamped after service to prevent double-regrooving
